The concept of “brunch” has always attracted me. It comes from afar and the word “br-unch” perfectly expresses the mixture of breakfast and lunch. It is an imported tradition, but I like the idea of “having a brunch” also in Modena and so I’ll tell you my experience.
Indeed, thanks to one of the last warm Sundays of this special November, I went with my friend, at Jute Cafe, reference place of Modena’s nightlife since years, that on Sundays organizes brunch.
This Café, with an underground atmosphere, is in the center of Modena. It has some outdoor tables overlooking the street from where, on Sunday morning, you can enjoy the peaceful walkings in via Taglio, and during weekends and some evenings, you can appreciate the mundane life of Modena.
The menù that I chose is quite typical for a brunch: scrambled eggs, semisweet “pan brioche”, home-made ketchup and balsamic vinegar (that touch of Modenese that is always good 😉 ) and a banana muffin, with berries and fried plantains. I admit that I could not resist the chocolate brownies with ice cream chosen by my friend 🙂
I liked very much spending outdoors a few hours of this exceptional warm autumn season, talking with my friends and enjoying the experience of the brunch.
