Have you ever wondered what character has your city?<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 Do you think it is possible to identify its different distinctive features? I think it is.
\nI’ve always thought that cities, like humans, had a different character that could be captured in certain places and doing certain experiences.
\nSo, in order to organize a<\/strong>\u00a0tour of Modena made of 5 stops<\/strong>, I’ve tried to think about my city as a real person, whose character is composed of different personalities. Then, I tell you of 5 shades of Modena<\/strong>, 5 experiences that I had having a tour on my territory accompanied by the new\u00a0T-Roc<\/em>, in collaboration with Volkswagen MPS Car Modena.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Here is my tour of Modena in 5 stops<\/h2>\n

First stop: Terme della Salvarola… let’s start relaxed!<\/h3>\n

20-kilometers from Modena, on the hills of Sassuolo,<\/strong><\/em> there are the Terme Salvarola<\/a><\/strong>, a very ancient Spa, one of the most known in Emilia-Romagna region. This stop is a must if you want to relax a little bit!<\/p>\n

\"5<\/a><\/p>\n

The waters of these Baths have unique characteristics (they are, in fact, salty bromo iodic and sulphureous<\/em>) and were already known since Roman times. During the Middle Age, this destination became one of the most favorite among those people who needed special cares (it seems that also Matilde di Canossa<\/em> came here). Today, a modern wellness center, called Balnea<\/strong><\/em>, has been added to traditional Spa treatments. Here, you can enjoy all the benefits of a full-day of relax \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Between thermal pools with different temperatures, hydro-massages, sauna, steam baths, a beauty center and even different gyms, Terme Salvarola<\/em> is certainly the right place to take care of yourself. Among the beauty treatments you can even choose to try those with aromatic vinegar and wine therapy.<\/p>\n

Second stop: the Ducal Palace of Sassuolo… let’s dive into art!<\/h3>\n

For this second stop, we stay in Sassuolo<\/strong>\u00a0and visit a spectacular and unexpected place: the Ducal Palace of Sassuolo<\/a>.
\nPart of Gallerie Estensi<\/strong><\/em>, as Estense Gallery in Modena about which I had already spoken here on the blog<\/strong><\/a>, this Palace is one of the most fascinating and important baroque residences in Northern Italy.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was the duke Francesco I d’Este<\/em> who wanted this Palace as it is now. For this reason, in 1634 he commissioned the architect Avanzini<\/em> to transform the ancient family castle into a court palace, with sumptuous murals paintings, marvelous decorations and monumental fountains.
\nThe Ducal Palace became\u00a0in this way a prestigious place,<\/strong> the summer residence of the dukes, the official home of the court and gained the name “Delizia”.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Since 2004, after complex restoration works, it is possible to visit its numerous rooms, its wide spaces, its precious art collections, its beautiful garden with the Peschiera<\/em> and the splendid tree-lined street (a super photogenic place perfect for taking beautiful pictures!).<\/p>\n

I suggest you to organize your visit taking your time, because the things to see are many \ud83d\ude42

Let’s go now in Spilamberto<\/strong><\/em>, in the south of the province of Modena, to visit the Museum of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena<\/strong><\/em><\/a>. A special place, where the production of the true Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena<\/em> is shown and explained.<\/p>\n

Fourth stop: the MEF, to Museo Enzo Ferrari, a dynamic and involving visit!<\/h3>\n

This stop is dedicated to automotive and racing lovers and tells a story of a glorious and dynamic period<\/em> in which Modena was and is the protagonist yet.<\/p>\n

So, let’s come back to the city and visit the\u00a0MEF, Museo Enzo Ferrari<\/a>,<\/strong> a place dedicated to the life and the\u00a0job of the founder of this great car company, born with the aim to celebrate the history of Modenese motoring.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to a large exhibition area built with an avant-garde architecture (it is impossible, in fact, not to notice the famous yellow car bonnet-inspired roof<\/em>) used to show some of the most representative car models of all time, here you can also visit the house-workshop in which Enzo was born and worked in the course of his life. <\/span><\/p>\n

The lovers of the competitions will surely appreciate the Museum of Ferrari Engines<\/em>, located precisely into the workshop, in which they are exposed several exemplary of engines that gave a lot of\u00a0satisfactions to Ferrari and all its fans during the years.<\/span><\/p>\n

MEF is a place that strikes you for its modernity but at the same time gives you many emotions telling about a past time that has marked the history of all of us.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now we have arrived at the last stop of this beautiful tour. This stop is dedicated to a great Modenese character, a great Maestro, able to bring the lyric beyond its borders and to show Modena, the city that he always considered his home, to the world. I’m talking about the myth, Luciano Pavarotti,<\/em> <\/strong>and about his House Museum which I had already told you about in another article on the blog<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
