I\u00a0deeply and unconditionally love vintage<\/em>, I admit it.
\nNot only just vintage, but also everything old, old-fashioned,\u00a0shabby chic etc<\/em>. I think that this attraction comes from the intrinsic charm simply contained in these words. As if just pronouncing them, you are immediately thrown into a different time dimension, in a fantastic world in which every object is able to tell a unique story, full of emotions.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

And so when it arrives the last weekend of each month, it’s almost a “must” going out for a ride in Piazza Grande.
\n<\/em><\/strong>It’s my “storyhunter”<\/em><\/strong> soul that\u00a0ask me for this ; )
\nYes, because the 4th Saturday and Sunday of each month there is the prompt appointment with\u00a0“L’Antico in Piazza Grande<\/em><\/strong>“<\/a>, the vintage market fair in Modena.<\/p>\n

This fair has a long tradition. Consulting the web site, I did\u00a0a wonderful discovery<\/a>: this market\u00a0was born in 1978, just like me! It’s definitely\u00a0a serious question of elective affinities, there is no doubt ; )<\/p>\n

Continuing to reading on the web site, I’ve found that Modena’s love for the antique\u00a0lasted since centuries. It is an established tradition, even told by\u00a0Ludovico Antonio Muratori<\/em> <\/a>who was the first to confirm the devotion of\u00a0the city to arts since the beginning of humanism.<\/span><\/p>\n

The choice of a so special location, as\u00a0Piazza Grande<\/a><\/strong>, was then winning. UNESCO site since 1997, with the Cathedral<\/em> and the Ghirlandina tower<\/em>, this area has been a source of ancient inspirations for Lanfranco, Wiligelmo and\u00a0“Maestri Campionesi”<\/em>, who realized\u00a0this unique architecture.<\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, walking between\u00a0the stalls of the fair is twice a pleasure.\u00a0How not to be enchanted by the encounter of so much beauty, history and emotions? Impossible! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

I love history… everything is inspired by history, so that’s why I love vintage and antiques.

\nI know that there is someone who still sends postcards, I’ve stopped. The digital era has completely changed my mind and I confess to have lost the will to write postcards. However I remember it, it’s a distant memory but still present. It goes back to my childhood, when I\u00a0wrote postcards to my friends from the camping. I believe that it’s been about 20 years ago.<\/p>\n

Much older are the postcards that I found at the market.
\n<\/span>1953, 1955, 1958 .
\n<\/span><\/em>Most of them were sent during the summer.
\nDestination: Rimini, Genoa, also Modena and its province. Many greetings traveling\u00a0by mail.<\/strong>
\nI look at them and I don’t\u00a0know why I feel\u00a0a little bit nostalgic for those years when I was not even born.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our culture’s obsession with vintage objects has rendered us unable to separate history from nostalgia. People want heart. They want a chaser of emotion with their aesthetics.<\/span>
