Christmas has arrived also this year bringing with him its magical atmosphere.
When this special time of the year comes, cities turn theirselves and walking down their streets is no longer the same …
Also Modena changes: when night falls down it happens to be captured by the beautiful lights that decorate squares, buildings and roads.
I stop to admire them and to breathe this special party atmosphere.
Every year most of these decorations and lights change and it’s nice going out for a ride in order to discover what’s new.
So, on this Christmas Eve, let’s have a tour together through the pictures I took along the streets of Modena 🙂
I know that it’s really hard to capture the real feelings of this atmosphere (especially with a smartphone!) but I tried and now I bring you with me!
First we’ll visit Piazza Grande and its beautiful tree 🙂
From “Piazza Grande” we reach “Piazza XX Settembre”, which this year hosts another beautiful Christmas tree. I love it 🙂
Walking the streets of the center, we discover beautiful views in which Ghirlandina tower is always the protagonist.
We finish our tour in the “new” (because recently transformed and inaugurated) “Piazza Roma”.
This is its first Christmas without parked cars and I have to say it is really great to see this space in this way, with its fountains, the ice skating rink and the big Christmas tree that faces the Ducal Palace.
This is perhaps that period of the year that I prefer. Maybe because December is the month of my birthday, so it is my non-stop party season, but the expectation, the desire of home, family and tradition that it’s possible to live is unique. So special.
My light city tour continues on Steller ; )
And now I just have to send you my best wishes for a Merry Christmas, my friends. I hope that your Christmas will be magical 🙂
